Bio

• What year did you first start practicing physical fitness or martial arts training?

Well that’s a very telling question ... however, straight out of high school at 17, I started working on an aerobics certification in 1984, then later personal training and martial arts in my 20’s a few years later.

• Was there any particular reason you started practicing martial arts?

Watching the Kung Fu series with David Carradine, I fell in love with martial arts.

His character, Caine, was a Shaolin monk and martial-arts expert fleeing China after his master was killed. He wandered the Old West of America, defending the helpless and beating down bad guys with his skills, all while trying to find his half-brother and evade Chinese bounty hunters.

• Favorite form and why?

Tiger and Crane is my favorite form. It embodies the life of nature and combines all elements of martial arts.

• Why do you currently practice this style of martial arts?

After a long journey of cumulative research, I believe that Kenpo combines the best well rounded group of street smart technique with traditional old world martial arts. I’ve studied several styles of martial arts and hold a black belt in four different methodologies and arts.

• What do you love about teaching martial arts, kickboxing, or fitness?

I believe learning in a positive environment inspires life and energy. Giving back what has been given to me is pure joy. I have a servants heart and enjoy seeing people become confident in who they are and realize their talents.

• Two things most people don’t know about you?

1. I have a secret addiction for chef’s knives.

2. I can recite Theophilus Thistle which is a famous tongue twister.
