Maddie Spears discovered her passion for martial arts in July 2018, after exploring various forms of physical fitness throughout her teens. Encouraged by family members to try something new, Maddie embraced martial arts as a way to engage both her mind and body. Since then, it has become her favorite activity and a significant part of her life.
Holding a first-degree black belt at ROC Martial Arts Academy, Maddie's favorite form is Tiger and Crane, which she appreciates for its demanding nature and the need for full investment in each movement. The intricacies of this form provide continuous challenges, fueling her desire to learn and improve. She values the practicality of martial arts, finding joy in its applicability to everyday life.
As an instructor, Maddie enjoys helping her team and assisting her fellow students, believing that contributing to their growth fosters a sense of usefulness and connection.
Outside of martial arts, she hails from Danville, KY, and enjoys a variety of hobbies, including playing the piano, cooking, crocheting, reading, hiking, and perfecting her pour-over coffee-making skills. Maddie also has a passion for houseplants and loves learning how to propagate them.
Her enthusiasm for both teaching and personal growth makes her an inspiring member of the ROC Martial Arts team.
