I started martial arts in 2018. I took about a 2 year hiatus from 2019-2021 for personal reasons but was eager to get back. I’m glad I was able to return and continue my journey.
I started practicing martial arts to learn self-defense, stay active, and in a way honor my father and grandfather as they were both black belts.
I practice this style of martial arts because of the reputation of Ms. Finn. She’s a great Sensei and does all she can to help you better yourself both in karate and personally.
I like teaching because you learn by teaching. It helps me better understand form and realize my own flaws while helping others grow at the same time.
Two things most people don’t know about me include that I am the Lead School Psychologist for Boyle County Schools (not to be confused with School Counselor) and my other biggest hobby is playing narrative driven video games. People may judge, but there’s nothing more exciting than a great interactive and immersive story.
